KAGE’s technical photo equipment
From the studio to the scanning electron microscope
Of course, anyone can take pictures. But to screen or x-ray microscopically small creatures you do need special equipment. In the course of several decades KAGE has developed a unique assembly of photo equipment at Weissenstein Palace near Göppingen with which there are no limits to the possibilities. That begins with the second scanning electron microscope (SEM) from Philips and continues from the digitalisation of the equipment through to the video studio. We don’t know what you want to have photographed – but whatever it is, we’ve got the right equipment for the job.
KAGE. A competitive edge with technology
- Three scanning electron microscopes (SEM) ISI 60 and ISI SX 40, digitised for monochrome and polychrome pictures, and a Philips 515, digitised for high resolution.
- Light microscopy (LM), all systems analogue and digital
- 2 Axioplan microscopes from Carl Zeiss with incident and transmitted light
- 1 Axiovert microscope from Carl Zeiss with video attachment
- Diverse other photo microscopes from Zeiss and Leitz
- X-ray equipment for medical, zoological, botanical and technical pictures
- Colour schlieren optical bench for making flowing processes visible
- All optical contrast processes and special polarisation equipment with Polychromator for colouration of pictures, e.g. Science-Art
- TEM – polychrome – in cooperation with other scientific institutes
- Diverse kaleidoscopic devices for 35 mm, medium format and 4 x 5”
- Stereo photography equipment with 3-D projections
- Kirlian equipment for making visible electric radiation fields
- Complex studio equipment for scientific and technical advertising photography
- Videography with all the above-mentioned processes, in particular for marine biology, limnology and crystal growth processes
- Video studio with 5 different 3-CCD cameras and several DV recorders, analogue and digital for video films in the micro and macro areas, for TV stations, pharmaceutical corporations, trade show designers etc. through to final production
Since 2005, HDV studio with HDV recorder and video film editing
- Multimedia equipment with Audioscope. Special projectors for music made visible
- A “crystal planet”: live video installation of crystal-optical flight simulations
